Hawaii introduces bills targeting loot boxes setting age requirement and odds
Hawaii is leading the way in addressing the problem of loot boxes thanks to Chris Lee and multiple bills have been proposed. The bills tackle the problem on multiple fronts. First of all, they propose prohibiting the sale of a game to anyone under the age of 21 where there are randomised loot boxes that require payment. All games with loot boxes would also have to be labeled to show they included microtransactions and the odds of the rewards would also have to be disclosed.

Loot boxes and microtransactions are ruining the gaming experience. I won't buy a game that has them.
Labeling the odds may make it actually possible to get that vorpal ray gun of infinite ammo or make more people realize that they are actually gambling real money for bytes on a server.
Same here...Yep,the gaming industry has sure gone downhill. This nonsense needs to be outlawed and no games that do this should be allowed to be sold anywhere. I don't know if WOW does this,but an x friend of mine got a divorce because her husband spent every moment he was not at work playing WOW. WOW was even more important than sex! She finally threw him out .
Addiction, to anything, is a terrible disease. Treatment is available if it's drugs, alcohol, or gambling. Finding a WOW anonymous group is a lot harder.
It would be. I lost touch with them years ago. She remarried and he moved out of state. I think those loot boxes are just evil though and the creators are as well.
