I really enjoyed my short stint with Linux mint a few years back after a computer died and I was making a new windows build. I used it for the short time in between. There is just so many programs I use I can't get away with using anything but Windows.
I do recommend Linux to anyone who just wants a computer to browse the internet or do very basic things.
I've used Linux for 11 years and I do more than very basic things. I have all the programs I need and find it to be a far better operating system than Windows.
Like I said it depends on what your doing. It didn't work out for me since I use Corel painter as my art program and none of the art programs on Linux are like it. You can do many things, but just not that particular thing.
Yeah there is a lot it can do and it probably varies a lot depending on your interests. I can't play the vast majority of games on it (that's slowly getting better) tho and most art programs aren't on it. Gimp is good for what it is but it just don't cut it.
I do use Tails so I guess I can't say I don't use linux at all.
