I ran bumblebee since 2013 and I'm pretty happy about it. On some laptops it needs quite a bit configuration to run it properly and I frequently forget to start it when I start a game after I installed it for the first time.
In my opinion bumblebee just works better. Sure, there's a little more setup involved, but it always works.
