Yahoo will stream a live concert every day for a year
Yahoo wants to be the next big music venue. Through a partnership with Live Nation, the concert ticketing company, Yahoo plans to stream a live concert every day for an entire year, featuring what Yahoo marketing chief Kathy Savitt describes as the "world's hottest bands and musicians." Yahoo says that it'll also keep 1,200 of its live song recordings around after the shows airs for "months and months" so that listeners can continue to stream them.

The problem I can see coming here is having any big acts licence this, because as I'm sure you know big acts make their money by selling tickets for gigs and selling merchandise these days not from selling the actual music on CD or Mp3.
I doubt any self respecting music star/band will accept a licence.
This could be good, but I'm hesitant because Yahoo has their name attached to it. I've never had a good experience with any of their videos and generally don't like Yahoo's content, but I'd be happy to be proven wrong. I love going to concerts and this may be a way to fill in the gaps between each one.
I agree with you about being cautiously optimistic, but I do look forward to being proven wrong.
