Living somewhere which will have AT&T, Google Fiber, and Comcast Gigapro all in about a year, Google is going to blow the others out of the water on price alone. I can't imagine needing 100 Bits of data, much less 1 or 2 GBits. There's just no way I'll spend triple for double the bandwidth that Google is offering. Comcast is going to have to fix the pricing, or become even more of a laughingstock.

I just see this as an excuse for Comacast to say "Hey look, see nobody really wants faster internet!", but we'll have to wait and see if that is the case. Otherwise this is an absurdly high cost compared to Google Fiber which is now deploying in some of the same cities that Comcast is bringing their fiber service to.

I have a 50/10 circuit that has a data cap of like 300 GB, but it was repealed and not enforced. Still ridiculous. I can and do exceed that by at least 100%-200% most months with just Crashplan backups rate limited at 4 Mbps....

It would also be hard to saturate a 2 Gbps link at home, heck I barely touch 50 Mbps and my home uses a lot more bandwidth than most.

I wish they would just fix their billing and customer service issues, that would make things a lot better for them.

Heck even according to this you are paying ~$0.15/Mbps/month. At that rate I should be paying like 8 bucks for my 50/10 circuit. Heck even knowing that the cost isn't linear at $25/month for 50/10 would still be profitable and reasonable to me. I know this because this is the agreement my HOA had with Comcast for the last 5 years until my HOA chose not to renew. Now I'm paying $70/month for the same service.
