I am glad he had to fill that awful russian visa questionnaire. I need to fill one for my wife every time we want to visit the UK and it's unbelievably annoying (prove that her father is going to remain on his home country while we travel, and things like that), not to mention the attitude of the companies that handle the application to the embassies, the 'funniest' being that visa pick-up is from 2 to 4 pm, when all courier companies are closed, so you have to book their 'priority' service in advance. From September 1st there is a service fee in addition to a visa fee (we are levied of visa fee because of EU family member conditions) Or the fact that we are still waiting for a refund for a visa interview that we didn't attend (their website it's confusing on purpose so it's almost impossible to ask for a visa interview as a EEA family member) and I am tired of being forwarded to every possible department.

I am glad in the sense that more people need to know how incredible annoying and privacy invading those questionnaires can be.

Why do they make travel that difficult?

They claim it is because a lot of benefit seekers and health tourism is going on, but honestly I don't know, and I am smelling somebody is getting very rich handling visas in developing countries. You can check teleperformance and vfs global.
