I love the sound of an internal combustion engine screaming at redline. The hum of a motor just doesn't have the same visceral feel. I realize that from a speed perspective, it's kinda moot. All-electric vehicles can be made to go fast, very fast....and quick. Every bit of torque is available immediately, which is awesome!

I have a friend who is an electrical engineer and he lives on a big private lake that is shared by a bunch of other people. He has, by far, the fastest pontoon boat on the lake and it's all electric. He put an electric motor in an outboard case, so it looks like a regular engine; it just doesn't make noise or have any exhaust. Most people don't even realize what they are seeing until you point it out. He converted a gas generator to propane and that's what keeps the battery bank charged. It runs at 48VDC and it's friggin' badass. Edit: For the curious- The speed is controlled with a rheostat on the driver's dash panel.

Point being that I truly do appreciate electric vehicles. I just love the sound of an engine.
