The European povertyline is on average twice as high as the amount of money handed out, so I wonder how these people will survive or pay their way out of poverty. It's a nice tool to exclude many more people from development and it is a formidable political tool: the people don't do what you like? Close the tap and let's see what happens. Allthough it is a good idea or solution, the cash handed out isn't in realistic quantities and thus will not lift those people out of anything. In a world full of people who like to gain power over the backs of the majority, i.e. the poor and near-poor, it is a good tool. To get a world where everyone has enough to survive, develop and live a good life, we first need a different mindset, because this world is poisoned with neo-liberalism, Americanism and several other dangerous and/or ridiculous "isms".
