This is technically a reboot of a Universal Horror movie, even though we all know the end result is going to be a bunch of silly fun, rather than scares. :)

I think Tom Cruise is a great catch. He's got a hell of an agent and rarely stars in anything less than "good". After Ghost Protocol, Jack Reacher and Edge of Tomorrow, I'm willing to see just about anything he's in -- dude is on a roll. So the fact that he's doing The Mummy means it'll probably turn out better than Universal's last few ill-fated attempts to reboot their Universal Monsters line. (The Wolfman, Dracula Unbound, etc.)
