Conde hasn't owned Reddit in years. They're both owned by the same parent corp - Advance Publications.

I expected Pao to resign, but Spez coming back was a surprise. And since Spez was always much more part of the community than kn0thing is, it's at least somewhat heartening to see.

Reddit was already changing before the Digg exodus, but the sudden increase in the userbase did correlate with a sudden decline in the quality of posts. Many of the other pre-exodus users took that to mean that all the Digg refugees were bad for the community, but it's just the natural consequence of a larger community.

After 8 years and change, I'm ready to move on from Reddit. But there's nowhere near enough of a userbase here for the Snapzu equivalent of the smallish subreddits to form.

Okay, I've been messing around for a bit and have questions:

    - How can I see all my comments? Also, once I have been commenting for some number of months, will I be able to see more than the last X number of comments? Being able to only see the last 1,000 comments on my profile page at Reddit has been bugging me for years.

    - If my comment gets a reply, I'll get a notification. That's good. If that reply gets a reply (by someone that's not me), do I get a notification? Because I'd like to.

    - Is there a "hide" function, or something similar? I don't want to downvote stuff on the main page just because it doesn't interest me, but I don't want to have "how often do you brush your dog" taking up space either, and doing so will wind up discouraging people from posting things to large tribes as well as small ones (pets, dogs, and asksnapzu in the example).

Is it possible to have the grace period be "until someone responds"? Or perhaps the shorter of "until someone responds" or X time?

Reddit gold caught on in a big enough way that Reddit could easily have continued to exist and pay for itself indefinitely. But I don't suppose "maintain the status quo" is an acceptable model for the sort of VC types who hand over $50 million.

I'm expecting that as well. It'd be nice if the userbase pays enough attention to who the mods are of the big subreddits to notice when there's a large unexpected turnover and follow the kicked out mods to the new versions of the subs that one would expect to rise up in the wake of such actions.

I doubt that that will ever be made public. It's not really important anyhow; the protests were never really about Victoria's firing, they were merely triggered by it. They were about the total disconnect from and indifference to their userbase & especially the mod teams that are the reason that their company is "worth" hundreds of millions of dollars.

I'd like at least some part of the top bar to be set aside for tribe suggestions. Either popular, trending, or similar to the ones I've already joined. Make it easy for users to find new tribes, not just easy to stick to their familiar corners of the site.
