Apple Slips to Fourth Place for Smartphone Market Share, Overtaken by Xiaomi
Apple has shipped 10.6 percent fewer iPhones year-on-year in the third quarter of 2020, meaning that it has been overtaken by Xiaomi for the first time, according to new data shared by IDC. The report details how Apple is now ranked as the fourth-largest smartphone manufacturer by market share. This is the first time that Apple has ranked fourth, with Xiaomi, Huawei, and Samsung exceeding Apple's 11.8 percent share.

This is so where Apple was with PC market in 1990
they were fat, rich, complacent, and their competitors were making the same thing as Apple cheaper as Apple slipped further and further behind in market share
by the time Windows 95 came the market was completely off where they were going and they were a niche luxury for designers and architects
by the time Windows 98 was released, Bill Gates had to bail them out cause they were running out of cash and the stock was worth nearly zilch
then they called back in the turtleneck messiah , released the iMac, then the iPod and the rest is history
so in five years time they better release an iMac equivalent to bounce out of the rut or in 8 years they are gonna need another bailout only this time there will be no Steve Jobs to redirect the company
