Hearing about the creative and production process in media always garners my interest. Sometimes I find it more enjoyable than the source material itself.

Sadly the writer from BiblicalGenderRoles is keeping in line with scripture on this issue. Thankfully the majority of Christians have moved on towards more loving and positive values in their relationships.

As much as I dislike Uber and it's shady business practices. The one positive to come out of this may be some long needed taxi and chauffeur reform. The problems with the industry have been ignored for far to long.

If true then it really drives home just how broken this game was on launch for PC. But then it's just another title in a frequently updated list of newer PC games that simply weren't ready to ship.

Looks like PNG will have to become the next standard file type for web users. Or another more open filetype can rise up and take JPEG's place. I can't say I'm familiar with any of the newer stuff that could compete.

Thanks for link. I heard about the downvote limit but never looked into the actual numbers.

But I'm also advocating for a limit on upvotes as well. Ideally it would prevent users from simply using it as an agree button to push opinions they happen to like to the top. Instead it would force them to save their votes for better quality content.

How close does their connection to it have to be? Are the guards posted to the watchtower responsible? How about the mess cook? Filing clerks that only handle paper? On site contractors such as electricians? You seem to be advocating that all of them be charged for the same crimes.

You're talking to the masses rather than addressing my points.

What good comes from expending the resources on putting thousands on trial, no matter how tenuous their connection to the crime may be?

The soldiers at Guantanamo Bay are responsible for their participation in crimes against humanity. It's a stain on the entire nation not only that this was allowed to happen, but that we've allowed it to go unpunished and actively prevented other nations from pursuing justice.

You do realize that this would involve prosecuting thousands of military service members that were connected to the camp. It's exactly why we didn't prosecute the hundreds of thousands of Nazi era service personnel that were connected to the mass killings, widespread slave labor, mass deportation and other crimes against humanity. It'd be a waste of time and resources to hold trials for all of them. That's why Gröning was never tried until now. Post-war he one of hundreds of thousands of people connected. Now he's just one out of a handful left.

I'd highly recommend this site to see examples of Detroit's fall into decay.

There's a certain beauty in urban decay. It's a feeling of looking back into history.

And exactly what crimes crimes against humanity did he commit? This is like holding all military service members in Guantanamo bay responsible for the torture of it's detainees.

As long as the button is there you're going to get the odd downvote once in awhile. Sometimes posts can irk people that otherwise look fine to others and they'll hit that downvote button without putting much thought into why they're doing it. That's the downside to a voting system like this. It's based on kneejerk feelings and requires no effort. It's the reason why we're seeing trending snaps with no comments on them. I've made a personal rule here that if I'm upvoting a snap I'll try to make a comment on it just to try and get some discussion going.

As for your other text topic. I can see why people choose to downvote it. It just comes across as whining over nothing. The author's assessment you linked to is fair. Snapzu is a bit short on the debate side and can look rather dull as a result. But that easy going atmosphere is why I hanged my hat here. If this was a typical site that used the up arrow to promote content and the down arrow to push it down. Then I likely would have downvoted it as well. Snapzu is unique in how we treat the downvote button. We'll have to beat it into users that it needs to be used for very specific purposes and that they have to think before clicking it, and curbing basic impulses is a difficult thing to do.

There's a couple of possible solutions that I have in mind in order to help train our users. First is to take away the voting abilities of new users during the first few experience levels. This forces them to get used to the site and see how it works. Hopefully they'll shed the old vote button habits by the time they gain the ability. Second is to limit the amount of upvotes and downvotes spent per day. Knowing that votes are a finite resource will make users rethink whether that post or snap is really worth voting on. Maybe increase the number of votes permitted as a user gains experience levels to tie it into that system.

After seeing the better quality trailer I will say he seems to have given a good voice to the character. If we're lucky they'll keep the character more in line with what we'd expect from the comics. I can look past the goofy appearance if those other areas are fulfilled.

They're a lightning rod for people targeting so called "hate groups" right now. So it's no surprise that they're dealing with this sort of thing. 8chan regularly gets the same being another brash speech platform. Hopefully they can recover and continue to serve the people that want an unmoderated environment. I have no objection to them having it.

The quotes provided in that article were so overwhelmingly stupid that I struggled to finish reading through it.

Just label the U of T an adult daycare and be done with it. Because courses like this will damage the universities reputation enough to make a diploma from it worthless in the job market.

Can't say I care for the new Joker. But then there hasn't been a movie Joker I've liked yet.

We might end up with a far more even playing field in the skies than the Americans were banking on if China, India and Russia deliver on their stealth aircraft currently being developed. F-35 aircraft might have to rely on the F-22 for protection in the air while being limited to the ground attack role. Sucks for the NATO countries that bought into the program to replace their air-to-air aircraft.

There's been Duff beers before, albeit without the permission of Fox. Previously they had always been resistant to officially licensing the name. But I guess someone with enough clout decided it was worth making a quick buck off of.
