God won't let this happen, don't you remember the story of Noah's Ark? Nothing to see here...move along citizen.

Noah's Ark was a made up story. It didn't happen. If you think that the story of Noah's Ark is reason for believing that the above scenario will not happen, you really need to rethink your method of coming to decisions about the nature of reality. And as for the general notion of God preventing bad things from happening, where the hell do I even start?! Are you totally oblivious to the fact that vast chunks of southern England were underwater for most of the winter that's just gone? I think if you had just lost your house and all your possessions to flood water, you would have a hard time continuing to believe that there's a God that is looking out for us. With everything that has happened in the world so far, there are only 3 possibilities that make sense: 1) That God is incompetent. 2) That God doesn't care or is evil. 3) That God doesn't really exist. Take your pick, buddy. It's almost certainly one of those. (hint: it's probably number 3)

Perhaps I should have included a sarcasm tag?

Yes, because there are genuine religious idiots out there who seriously believe what you said.

I'm not really religious, but your argument only combats the idea of an antropomorphic immanencent God.

Top marks for teaching me two new long words I didn't know before, but zero marks for explaining your point properly or explaining why it wasn't a good argument against the comment I was replying to.

Okay, your argument only challenge the idea of a human-like god with human-like values, a physical entity, aka "man in the cloud"-like approaches to religion, which some, but far from all people who might pursue a belief in something called a god, actually believes in. When it comes to the comment you were replying too, the person already said s/he was sarcastic., so...

But the old testament says God made man in his own image. So doesn't this mean God is human-like?

But I take your point that not everyone believes it as literally as that. Only the fundamentalist lunatics do.
