Maybe, but I still think they were being selfish and ridiculous. There is nothing wrong with making sure you have 1 extra package on hand going into lockdown (I didn't; I was more concerned with having powdered milk and staples like that than toilet paper). But I don't have any sympathy for the people who stockpiled toilet paper, even though the article said they are just looking for a symbol of safety. I was honestly quite happy that some big retailers were not accepting returns of toilet paper, that way people who stockpiled didn't get "rewarded" for having too much.
As was I. I read-way too many stories on how small groups of people tried to get mass amounts of tp and other goods and then tried to resell them at inflated prices.
