Eventhough it are crypto-currencies they are scammed with, the blame's not with crypto. Like with most scams it's the gullibility of the people who got scammed. Maybe those people can't handle the full responsibility that comes with crypto-currencies, i.e. being your own bank is a concept most of those people can't handle after years of being pampered by the idea that you're "secure" and "insured" against scams. Of course, it's just a thought, but people get scammed every day: advertisements anyone?
