Australia has like a $14 minimum wage, however they pay a lot more taxes on EVERYTHING, including alcohol, smokes, electronics and even video games. Some new games cost like $100-120 new there, where the same games here are $60 tops.
I'd just start buying used games, or older pc games on steam :)
