It's very interesting. Alaska is the Final Frontier. For the most part, it has already been allowed for personal use. Even growing your own plants has been allowed. The new marijuana laws are actually more restrictive than what we have had in the past. However, the clause for commercial sales is an important part of the new law that was not allowed before.
That's an interesting development... so do you think it is pretty much just a cash grab by the state?
no, we had two conflicting laws as well as a court ruling that set a precedent. LINK
This law clears some of that up, AS WELL as allows for commercial opportunities. However, I'm still not exactly happy with how the new law was written, but at least we have something clear and not confusing.
The US should just legalize it in all 50 states and be done with it.
I'm in. Where do I sign?
Tourism to Alaska will skyrocket
Great job Alaska, you will enjoy the rewards of this wonderful decision.
FYI, the woman in the picture, Charlo Greene, has reached Sarah Palin levels of hate for how annoying and obnoxious she is. I really hope that she doesn't feel like this is a victory for HER, but I think her ego is big enough that she'll try to take credit and say she made this happen.
About 15 years ago I was worried that the US is going to bully Canada into making weed illegal... How the tables have turned!
Ugh, what a terrible direction that would have been. Living in Washington, I am loving how things are starting to work out. Counting the days until everyone else can feel as lucky as WA, CO, and AK residents.
