Title a bit misleading, does gun safety=gun control? The number of firearms per capita does not correlate to the number of gun related deaths per capita, as is illustrated by tables worldwide on both. Also ignored are the number of crimes, injuries, deaths, averted by gun ownership/possession, overwhelmingly in favor of ownership. Hunting is another issue seldom addressed. One can not prevent gun deaths/crimes by passing laws to ban them, or even making certain citizens criminals for possession. Guns may be the weapon of choice by criminals, you won't change that by any legislation, bans or background checks........ Consideration as to why our founders thought to include ownership as a right would be the key issue, for many, irrespective of contentious facts, figure, stats.
