Just purchased custom 17" CAD/gaming laptop from @Xi for well over $1000. I keep them a long time; previous one was 9 years old.

Technically, that's in the past. My next over $1000 purchase will be a PowerTIG 200DV welder and tanks. Completed a 2-year welding course and it's time to add it to my home shop.

Get up at 5:40am, go for 1.9 mi mountain loop walk, shower, make breakfast, read the comics, drive to local tech-college for 8:00am certified welder course I'm taking.

I retired early and well-off... and I like to make things.

Skills. I've learned to repair, make, and do everything. It's almost pointless now, but I keep adding skills, tools, and knowledge.

Super hot or super cold presumably means too hot/cold for sheltering vegetation. In other words; Siberian tundra vs. Sahara desert.

I'd choose super hot. You always have the earth under foot, and the earth is always cool.

An underground or "earth tempered" home would always be as warm or cool as you wanted it to be, at no cost and no tech. Too warm? Close the windows. Too cool? Open a window.

Man wants to be able to fly like superman, ride a hoverboard, own a jetpack. I'm an aerodynamicist, and I know it can be done.

A Russian engineer and I independently developed optimum lift design algorithms for this load size. I've seen no sign of anyone else having similar design optimization tools, and the Russian hasn't used his to solve man flight.

I have, and I know how to make a man-portable device that you could fly for miles and hours.
