Tough decision, but if I actually have to choose one, my favorite show is probably Ano Hana. It's the only anime I've ever rated a full 10/10, which on my scale means that I have no complaints about it whatsoever. There's quite a few runner-ups, though. Steins;Gate, Perfect Blue, Nichjijou and Welcome to the NHK are up there.

My least favorite is easy: Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso. I absolutely loathe that show. It's not even close to the worst anime I've ever seen in terms of quality, but I find it so repulsive on a moral level that I couldn't stomach sitting through more than, I think, five episodes. The way this show handled the topic of abuse is wrong in so many ways that I don't even know where to begin, and seeing how popular it is confuses me.

    1. It does on mobile browsers. I'm on my tablet right now and the score is permanently visible. That's enough for me. On the PC it's no biggie to hover over it. Makes the UI feel cleaner.

    2. Does Reddit even have a default font? I always thought it uses the font I set in my browser (sans-serif variety) because it looks different in Windows and Linux. In Chrome I have Droid Sans as a default and Reddit uses that, on Windows Firefox it uses Arial. I agree however that the ability to set another font in my profile via user CSS would be a nice addition to Snapzu, even though I like the default font.

    3. I agree and like /u/snakespm's idea with the EXP message over the avatar. Kinda makes it look like a level up message in an RPG.

Maybe an alternative to prevent spamming would be to make a tribe anonymous if the chief wants it. Instead of usernames it would just show ANONYMOUS with a generic avatar picture. You could have mods have the option of posting anonymously or as a mod when it's official business.

Posts in anonymous tribes then would not appear in one's profile or the feed of people following them. They may or may not afflict the rep score if they're up- or downvoted. This would be a compromise because it works like throwaway accounts in tribes like /t/suicidewatch while still making spamming in other tribes who won't support it impossible.

I don't disagree. I love a good creepy mystery, even if it's just a fabricated one. And this one's pretty well made for what it is. Definitely one of the better if not the best "creepy haunted game" things I've seen so far.

Does anyone else think that this smells like a PR stunt for that guy's channel? Of course he has deleted the game and the link where he supposedly got it from doesn't work. The link, http://www.kpjnftgm6xqz9sw2.onion/file1.html, doesn't even look like it's from a deep web file sharing site. file1.html, seriously?

    There's something fishy about this.

I love the fact that I can share a link and still add some introductory text to it. On Reddit you had to do this via comment which more often than not got lost somewhere in the discussion. I also love the design and the fact that there are some "house rules" here, hoping they will keep the worst scumbags out. I really don't think we need things like coontown here. I also really like the community. Most people here seem to enjoy a good discussion and interesting threads don't get flooded by dank may-mays and puns ... at least not yet.

What I'm missing as of now is mobile support. Even on my 9-inch tablet the site is hard to navigate.

    [Japanese][Female][Whispering]Ice, water and glass sounds.

This is from Hatomugi, a great Japanese ASMR channel that has only been around for about three months. Her sound quality is exceptional and on par with Dmitri's videos. There is no background noise whatsoever and her whispering is super clear. Check out her other videos as well, I'm sure you will find one you like!

Reddit won't die. Not unless the admins actively shut the whole thing down. Just like /u/bogdan said, the niche communities will keep it running. The exodus of users is more similar to pissed off 4chan users running of to 8chan. It still didn't kill 4chan, it just shifted the userbase a little.

Also note that everyone has a different reason to leave and thus ends up in a different new community. The people who were pissed about FPH getting nuked mostly wandered off to Voat, if I understood that correctly, the reasons of users coming here is probably different. For me it was just that Reddit because too big and the popular subs I liked were completely filled with trolls and spammers and it was virtually impossible to have any good discussions there. So I ended up giving Snapzu a try hoping that the smaller userbase gives me what I've been missing on Reddit.

    I like it so far.

Generally, I think that everyone is entitled to whatever opinion they wish to hold, even if I don't support it or even hate it. But I don't think that every opinion has a place on every platform. Therefore I think that banning things you don't want on your message board is completely justified from an admin's point of view.

If I don't like the policies of a message board as a user, I will leave and find myself another community, just as some users of the recently banned subreddits did with Voat. Reddit was very liberal with literally any kind of content for a very long time before they started removing things that didn't fit their "image." I guess people are pissed because they were allowed to have their playground for a while and then suddenly some admin threw them out. If they had rules from the beginning and, more importantly, enforced them from the beginning, the backlash would have certainly been less severe.

Free speech means the government can't arrest you for what you say. It does however not mean that I can't throw you out of my house when you bloat hate speech. Reddit (or any internet community) is very much like private property. You're invited to the party as long as you follow the rules which are set up by the hosts/admins. If you don't, you'll be asked to leave. If that happens, your right to free speech isn't being violated.

All these armchair protesters who moan about free speech on Reddit don't really understand the concept of free speech anyway.

As much as I'm an advocator of free speech, I think that some rules are necessary for a community like this and I actually like that Snapzu has some rules when it comes to content.

Yeah, same here. I really tried to get into Skullgirls because I liked the art style and the pacing of that game, but the mechanics are so beyond me. It even has a very in-depth tutorial which I played through for hours but I still ended up mashing buttons because holy shit how am I supposed to remember a sequence of 50 buttons to push with exact timing to pull off that one combo?

/t/asmr exists but there is no content there (I tried submitting a video but Snapzu is really slow atm and wouldn't let me do it). I request my fellow ASMR junkies to populate that tribe!

To be honest, the smaller subreddits are the better ones anyway. Sure, it's fun to browse AskReddit and see what a lot of people are writing, but for any sort of serious discussion I found the smaller forums much nicer and more helpful. The more members a community has, the higher is the amount of trolls and spammers as well.

So even if Snapzu stays smaller, maybe even significantly smaller than Reddit, it might have a nicer community altogether.

I just subscribed to /t/anime and I hope that we can make it grow. I guess a smaller community also means more insightful discussions, so that might actually be a good thing.

The first thing I watched this season was Ranpo Kitan earlier today. I enjoyed it a lot. I feels like Detective Conan with the atmosphere of something like Mouryou no Hako. I liked it a lot. I haven't read any of Edogawa Ranpo's novels but I like myself a good murder mystery and the first episode got me hooked so I hope it can keep up after a promising first episode.

Other than that I'll probably take a look at Akagami no Shirayuki-hime (which, I hope, will be something like Akatsuki no Yona which I quite enjoyed), Charlotte (which is another Maeda/PA Works thing so I don't expect too much), Gakkou Gurashi (I love the manga so I hope the anime will entertain me as well), Gangsta (that can't possibly go wrong, can it?) and Wakako-zake (a slice-of-life short about going out for food and drinks? Hell yeah!).
