Ark: Survival Evolved Sells One Million Copies, Swamp Biome Coming Soon
Last time we reported that open world dinosaur survival game Ark: Survival Evolved had already made $10 million in less than a week. Only a month later, Ark: Survival Evolved has now sold over a million copies, which make it become the 9th open world survival game to sell over a million on PC. Additionally, Studio Wildcard announced that the game is now available for Mac and Linux users through Early Access. I'd be more interested in how many people they've retained (even though I suppose that doesn't matter since they already have the money). I loved the game when I first got it but quickly found myself becoming bored and disinterested when it became evident there was no point building bases etc when they could be destroyed in a matter of minutes.
Looking at Steams game stats it lists Ark as the seventh most played game. Right up there with GTAV. So for now it's doing rather well despite the griefing issues and other problems that DayZ faced as well.
