    And a weapon like this is pretty much the exact reason our battleships have been getting fitted with anti-missile railgun systems

      There may be more wishful thinking than credible information in that view. Yes, the U.S. Navy has railgun prototypes. No, they haven’t got any battleships. No, aside from early prototypes no existing ships are being armed with railguns. No, railguns today aren’t even remotely capable of defending against either ballistic or cruise missiles. Even with generous budgetary levels of cubic taxpayer money, that’s theoretically possible the same way it was theoretically possible to field a new fighter/bomber.
