    Same thing man. I was with Rob & Jeff on IRC back in 96' when they were starting /. That was one of the coolest times IMHO to be around the birth of a giant like /. was. I didn't leave /., I simply added Fark & Digg to my experience. But I did ultimately stop going to Fark and Digg for whatever reasons.

    Part of the problem for me in most communities, is that if you aren't super witty, or if you don't have a thuggish group behind you to help upvote your thoughts, your opinion can get quickly buried no matter what.

    This place, so far, seems to allow for a difference of opinion without downvoting people to hell.

      I'm betting that it's mainly because the community here is small right now.
