Okay, so I've always wanted to get into this series, but I have no idea where to start. All the names are so familiar but not entirely the same. Any tips? I've heard good things.

Also, shameless plug for my own sub: /t/jrpg

In all honesty, I've recently gotten into the series. I bought Atelier Ayesha Plus for my PS Vita and that's where I've been.

From what I've read you should start with the Atelier trilogy on PS3: Atelier Rorona, Atelier Totori and Atelier Meruru. As far as I know, Rorona is a remake of the first game, which would make it a starting point for this series.

Hype! Thanks dude, I'll check it out next time I hit up the store.

Sure! Oh, and it seems that Rorona is the first game in the Arland trilogy (not the first one in the series since it goes all the way back to PS1). But either way, the Arland trilogy which I named in my other post seems to be the way to go!

You should look for Atelier Rorona PLUS if you want to start the trilogy :3
