'South Park' renewed for Three More Seasons
"South Park," the darkly funny animated series set in a Colorado town where no one ever grows older, is set to run for 23 seasons. The show is about to move into its 19th season and a new deal between Comedy Central and the show's creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, will make "South Park" the longest-running primetime scripted series in cable television history.

But do they need to stretch their content over three more seasons? The last couple have been weak at best. Rehashing old bits, tuning down their particular brand of humor. I doubt they'll make it all the way to 23. Other shows with long runs like this experience the same kind of problems and without a massive overhaul- (or in South Parks case), reconnecting with what made them so original, their social commentary. They'll be marked for cancellation soon enough.
At only 10 episodes a season, the network isn't spending a ton on this and it still gets good ratings for them, cancellation doesn't look likely right now.
