Google employee posts horrifying video that will convince you to never buy a Nest smoke alarm
It’s a safe bet that Nest CEO Tony Fadell is not too happy with Google staff engineer Brad Fitzpatrick right now. Fitzpatrick last week posted a video that showed Nest’s Nest Protect smoke alarms badly misbehaving in his home. Could driverless cars own themselves?
Forget buying an electric-powered Tesla, sharing a Zipcar or hiring an Uber - the most disruptive force in getting from A to B on four wheels could be cars that own themselves. Emancipated automobiles sounds like a crazy concept. But the man advocating the idea goes further: he thinks they'll have babies. OK, let's briefly shift into reverse and introduce Mike Hearn.

The case has been delayed multiple times. Days before it was supposed to...

Britain says Russia's Putin acting like "tyrant" over Ukraine
Britain accused Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday of acting like a "tyrant" over Ukraine, but said Kiev's forces could not defeat Russia's army on the battlefield and that only a political solution could end the bloodshed. The comments, by British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond, were his toughest yet on Russia and came after he rejected a suggestion that Britain had become an "irrelevance" because it wasn't directly involved in talks with Putin to en...
