“The DEA doesn’t want the drug war to end,” said Nelson, when asked about a possible connection between the agency’s hatred of legal pot and its buddies in Sinaloa. “If it ends, they don’t get their toys and their budgets. Once it ends, they aren’t going to have the kind of influence in foreign government. I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but where there’s smoke there’s probably fire.”

Perfect example of an agency that has grown into a cancer, looking out for its own interests instead of the interests of the citizens this agency is serving. If I break my leg, I will use a crutch to help me walk, but once my leg is better the crutch becomes a burden to me, and so I retire it until such a time that it is needed again. It would be ridiculous to walk around with two good legs and a crutch...

Last time I checked it was only legal in 2 states. It will be more "crippling" when more states join in on the fun.

Don't be forgetting medicinal, which is legal in some 20-30 states by now.

Definitely an overstatement. Plus the cartels have other sources of income.

60% of the cartels income is from marijuana, and that is a significant hit

I thought it was 25% or something. But I believe you.

Everyone loves a good war. Would be such a shame to see it end...
