Comment MercedesThis explains the increase of new species in Puerto Rico. Illegal bird-trade has brought in many species from the Amazon region of South America into Puerto Rico. Only recently has the federal government started to monitor and control the influx. I am seeing so many new beautiful species on the Island, yet fear that lack of control can also harm other species, and create a significant dis-balance. Now control levels have been established for tropical and exotic species, but the government employees are so extremely underpaid that anyone can find any type of bird desired, for a few under-the-table dollars. I feel like the birds have been turned into prostitution. ...my 2 cents.

Birds are always following me and trying to land on my head. I got used to it. I think it is because I have a very high-pitch voice and I like to sing out-loud. LOL!

Volcano Hunting
As a participant in the NASA Sallie Ride Earthkam Mission 2013/14, Volcano Hunting has become a challenge, and maybe even a sport! The Earthkam Mission allows its participants to use a camera located on the International Space Station area (WORF), and take pictures, which are later stored in an album located on their website. Each participating school is allocated an album location. On the 2014 Earthkam Mission we focused on Whales and Volcanoes. The volcanoes were easier to find.

It was just me. They are all my original paintings. I'm glad you enjoyed them. If you zoom into the large Trench painting you will find many different microscopic invertebrates as well as contamination. Enjoy!

Yes, they are all my own original works. I hope that someone someday notices the beauty the earth has within before these amazing species are extinct. I will continue to add to the collection so as to preserve as many species as I possibly can, so that my grandchildren's children can share these with their own children's children.
