Mom looked out the window and asked, "Are the Tigers playing today?" I said yes. She then asked, "Is Mickey Lolich pitching?" Mickey Lolich was a Tiger pitcher from the 60's and 70's who won three games in the 1968 World Series, and, more importantly, one of Mom's all-time favorites. Of course I told her that he was the day's starter.
