I have low blood pressure and I use salt to keep it normal so I don't get dizzy and almost pass out several times a day.
And I discovered that my sodium (and other electrolyte) requirements were much higher when I was doing an ultra low carb diet. When doing VLCDs, the body isn't producing much insulin at all, but insulin also helps the kidneys retain electrolytes. So it's an effort to get enough sodium/potassium/magnesium, etc. Nothing's ever as simple as it should be!
