Life's Entropy - Everything You Needed to Know About This Brand You've Never Heard Of
Life's Entropy has to be one of my favourite indie brands so far: a combination of great customer service, awesome products, and products that few other brands, indie or otherwise, offer. To get you started I've compiled the best reviews of this brand around so that you can see if there's anything that floats your boat.
LacquerCritic's Introduction
If you don't know what I mean by an indie brand, check out this snap here for a link to a guide. To put it simply, these are small, independent brands, typically only found through their online stores.
So what does Life's Entropy feature? Well:
- Lip Theories - these are liquid lipsticks nearly identical in application to OCC Lip Tars
- Brow Theory Pomades - gel creams designed for eyebrows in particular, with high coverage and designed to last much longer than brow powders
- Particle Contour Sticks - cream contour sticks in a wide range of shades, particularly some of the cool tones major brands rarely release
- Galaxy Glow Illuminators - highlighting cream in shades from pearl white all the way to a deep coral-gold, including two duochrome highlighters
- Foundation Elixir - a white liquid specifically made to be mixed into existing liquid or cream foundations that are too dark
- Revival Serum - a clear liquid you can add to any brow cream/pomade or cream eyeshadow that's drying out (aka a must-have for anyone obsessed with Anastasia Dip Brow pomade like I am)
- Eyeshadows - most shades recently discontinued, but a few favourites are left
On top of that, for Lip Theories, Life's Entropy sells empty mixing tubes so you can mix their shades as well as Placebo - a clear gloss you can mix with Lip Theories to make more translucent tints.
What else do you need to know? Here:
- Turn around time of 10-15 business days - not great for last minute gifts, but otherwise doable in my estimation.
- As with many indie brands, Life's Entropy sells samples of almost all its products - at anywhere from $1.50 to $2.50 USD per sample you can try out numerous shades to find the one that's right.
- For a limited time, Life's Entropy sold five amazing lipsticks. I didn't include additional reviews below since they're no longer offered, but Life's Entropy is releasing a bunch of new product July 20th - so here's hoping they offer some more lipsticks.
So what I have for you below is a mega-list of Life's Entropy blog reviews. This should help give you an idea about whether or not you want to try out this brand. Personally I own LE's foundation elixirs, brow cream pomade, lipsticks, galaxy glow illuminators, and lip theories - so I wouldn't be sharing all this info if I hadn't had a good experience myself, I promise.

Life's Entropy - The Store
I couldn't put together such a huge guide and then leave out the place where you can buy the stuff - Life's Entropy will reopen July 21st with new products and a big anniversary sale, but until then you can browse and start an account (if you're convinced, that is). -

Love your reviews! I think it is so important to showcase indie brands. I feel that many lesser can be just as good as popular brands which is exactly why the box subscriptions are becoming so common. I am definitely going to check out LE. How do you think they stack up against other indie or even popular brands?
I think LE stands out for its non-eyeshadow products, because there are far fewer indie brands doing lip-products, and the number that do anything involving foundation/brow products, etc. are pretty limited. LE also focuses on the science side of things - not just with branding and names, but in terms of researching products, ingredients, etc. This is why LE has things like their Revival Serum - Jane (creator of LE) likely had to do quite a bit of research to figure out which ingredient was evaporating when brow creams would dry out, then she had to figure out if it could be added back to a dry brow cream to "revive" it. Etc.
If LE decides to release a matte lip cream, I think they'll be doomed (in a good way).
That's so neat .. makes me wonder how much work it takes to make your own products. If it requires you to be a scientist like Jane then I'm probably disqualified lol.
Also please do more of these!!! I know they are a ton of work but it really shows how hard you worked on it and I think it will be so useful to everyone!
