Dubai to open "Museum of the Future" in 2017
Until relatively recently in its history, Dubai was little more than an undeveloped port on the edge of a huge desert. The last few decades have seen massive expansion and development in the region, with mega-projects including the world's tallest building, the largest shopping mall and a series of artificial islands off the coast. The city's next major attraction may arrive in 2017 in the form of a museum devoted to showcasing the latest technological breakthroughs.
