The tribe has recently been coming out of the woods - on their own terms - and have waved at, and interacted with townspeople, tourists, etc. A few times, these interactions have become violent. I think that with proper precautions, an initial contact is appropriate. If they choose to be alone after first contact, then fine. If not, also fine. Just so long as one group doesn't interfere with the other.

sigh...you know, I'm not surprised. Violence caused by the US-led war on drugs has led to the violence we see today. But, I would like to also point out that there are American cities that have similar, if not worse, violence as Mexico. It isn't all death and despair.

As a guy who lives in Southern California, just let me say the following:

Paradise gets boring sometimes. We all still acknowledge that we live in one the best places on Earth, but shit, it truly is boring sometimes. What's wrong with me wanting to go see the Eiffel Tower? Or the Parthenon? Or Times Square? There are other nice places in the world too, and some of us would like to see the other nice places, not just the one we live in.

True, but guns are used far more often. It's illogical to ban knifes, because there, are many, many non-lethal uses for knifes. Guns however (hunting, self-defense, or otherwise) are meant to do one thing: kill. I'm not advocating we can all guns either. There are many people in this country who still hunt for sustenance and/or sell the meat.

I'm not advocating that we ban everything that may or may not be used as a weapon. My comments are strictly structured around guns.

I actually used to argue this point. I would say "in order to be able to one day fight off a tyrannical government, one must accept a certain amount of violent crime on society." It's just that, I wouldn't consider myself a member of a "well regulated militia", even though my government says I am a member of it. We need to reform the definition of militia to something faaar more reasonable
