To the gamers of Snapzu: What are you into?

Dear Snapzu, I've been hoping to try and inspire a bit more discussion in the gaming related communities around here; I work as a game journalist and enjoy sharing my work with you guys, since it seems that Snapzu's gaming communities are into the more editorial stuff (that's my favorite to write!). I wanted to ask, what games are you guys into? I've noticed that there aren't a lot of comments on highly upvoted articles, and I wanted to change that. Let's get this community talking! P.S. That's me in the picture below, at PAX East. I'm not the giant.

I only play Tropico, but my friends and family play Madden NFL, Factorio, Kerbel Space Program, Minecraft, and more.

We can always use more comments! I'm really enjoying just a couple of games right now on a fairly casual basis.

    1. No Man's Sky
    2. DayZ

I don't play too much but right now I really enjoy the exploration concept of both.

Nice; how is No Man's Sky? I hear the latest updates really improve it.

It's actually quite good. Obviously a lot left to be desired, but for the casual experience it's a great little game now.

I typically only play sports on my PS4... Lots of Madden and NHL. Some NBA, MLB. Not really into story driven games that much.

      Nice, You getting NHL 18?

Maybe in November, used for like $20-30. I can't justify paying $80 for basically a roster update and patch.

Is that was most updates are? Just roster updates and minor functionality additions? I was never into the sports games, but I can't imagine a studio rebuilding a game from scratch every year. Makes me wonder how often they actually do that, rebuild from scratch that is.

I've been playing Game of War for almost 4 years now. Having just written that, I can't believe it's been that long!

And Jourdy, I work with Blizzard and Riot Games on merchandise and have been making a big study in the esports area. I am fascinated by the whole ecosystem. It is a social revolution going on and so very few are aware of it or just how big it really is....and how much bigger it is going to become.

Awesome; eSports is really exploding! You say you've been studying it, are you planning on working in eSports in any capacity?

Yes, we are in discussions with HKES who are the Club Team for LOL and manage LMS league, Clash Royale, Overwatch....and several others. We go back to Calif. to meet with Blizzard and Riot to discuss supporting events with merchandise and swag. People are building stadiums all over and now bars are retrofitting to watch or play eSports. It's also interesting to see the whole industry evolve. For sure it's destined to be an Olympic event. Trying to think up some deals with players as well. The industry is real white space right now, but it is part of society and as long as there is electricity, it's just going to grow. the stigma of geekism is going to disappear and it will go mainstream. Even colleges are giving scholarships for players, and the players get athletic visas to enter host countries.
