I've been there enough to know that most of the crap your hear people talking about it isn't true.

For some reason I can't create a tribe. When I go to where the instructions say to go the option to create a tribe isn't there.

For me it wasn't even this last bit of drama that did it. I've been sick of Reddit for a long time, I've just been trying to find somewhere to go. While I've been sick of the admins for a long time, it was the "power mods" that I really couldn't stand. There are mods there with hundreds of subs in their control and they were out of control. They censor what they don't want you to see, promote what they want you to believe or buy, and if you say anything against them to the wrong ones then you are banned. Reddit hasn't been a place for free thought for a long time, way before this last bunch of hoopla. I'm glad it's coming to an end, if not entirely then at least for me.

Just read Dune for the first time a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it.

Hi! I too am a Reddit immigrant. I checked out Voat as well, which is basically a Reddit clone. I'm definitely liking this better, I want something different and this seems to be it. Looking forward to exploring this place.

Exactly! I don't want a Reddit clone, I want a new experience. And this place looks really nice, I feel an optimism about this one that I didn't have with Voat. I'll still check them both out, but I have a feeling that this is gonna be the one.

I was under the impression that they closed down the jailbait subs on Voat. And I've never encountered any of the fat people haters or right wing people. That being said, this place seems nice and I also don't want to just go to a Reddit clone. It's just going to go downhill faster that way. Hopefully we can 10 years out of this site before it becomes too corrupt to want to be on.
