Fire: Iroh. He lacks the raw power and technical mastery of Jeong Jeong, but he incorporates other bending styles into his own, giving him far more versatility and, more importantly, far more control over his element.

Water: Amon. Guys, he can bloodbend without a full moon without even moving his hands. wtf.

Earth: Toph

Air: Tenzin had the greatest mastery over air. While Zaheer could beat him in a fight, I would chalk that up to being WAY more physically fit than an old vegetarian family man.

Fire is pretty great, but I'm also scared that I would accidentally burn down my house. So I'm going to go with air, since a) there's always air to bend, and b) it has a sick fighting style.

Which sub-bending techniques in particular? All I can think of is lighting, which is indeed pretty dope.
