    Yeah. I think that's part of why I've always liked him. I tend to sympathize with the types of people who are clearly uncomfortable with the set of expectations that come with their fame, especially athletes. I don't really know why. I just feel badly for them, I guess. It's not their fault that fans and the media want them to be something they aren't or don't want to be, and they've got a right to be themselves. Sometimes they don't handle that situation well and come by their enemies honestly, but Abdul-Jabbar always struck me as one that deserved better than he got.

      I agree with you. He seems to just be a quiet person and he is not just all about sports.

        Well put. I thought the Gay Talese quote in the story - "It just seemed like there was a part of him that didn’t want to be a man of the body." - was good too.
