Europe has no future being dependent on the US military. We need to be able to defend ourselves and not rely on american goodwill. Not only is it morally wrong to demand that another country spend money and lives to protect us, it also gives the US enormous political clout over Europe.
I can only thank Trump for highlighting this.
Hey, remember that one time when U.S. Gen. Wesley Clark, NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Europe ordered his forces to attack Russian peacekeeping forces and start World War III? How a single British tank commander, Capt. James Blunt, refused the order, took his objection all the way back up the chain of command and saved the world? Still doesn't make up for the songs, though. The way war with Russia is being weirdly fetishized lately is grotesque.
