Before I start a talking I would like everyone to know that I have guns and carry guns and a concealed carry permit for the state that I live in. I also have the right, with proof of permit, to carry in 45 States across the us. This is do to the states, other than my own, recognition of my license/permit from my state. It is called reciprocity between the states and when I do carry or transport firearms in another state I DO have make sure that I follow the STATE law that I am in. The firearms laws of my own state DO NOT carry over when I am in another. That is a fact and always has been. Reciprocity between states recognizes the permit and not the gun laws from the issuing state. Many people do not understand this and have gotten themselves in trouble. The right to carry is not the right to do whatever you want. I am allowed to purchase rifles and firearms without registration or license, we are under the castle doctrine and the "stand your ground" laws, and as long as I apply for the federal tax stamp and file the correct paperwork I am able to own and purchase full automatic weapons (believe it or not most people, in other states, can). I am proponent of the 2nd amendment but I personal believe that people take things to the extreme without truly understanding what they are doing. Even though my state seems relaxed in it's gun laws to some it does force the issue of training for a carry permit, which I like. But I am not so keen on a Constitutional Carry law or a Federal Reciprocity law going into affect.

The problem of Constitutional Carry and Federal Reciprocity laws comes down to training. Constitutional Carry allows people in states like Mississippi to carry guns without a permit or license. This laws affects the state only and does not affect my state and if Mississippi want all of their citizens to be able to walk around with guns without proper training or permit then yeah for them. But if a Federal Reciprocity law goes into affect then the people who carry guns who have not been properly trained can bleed into other states thinking that they have a Federal Right to carry how they please. Today, as I speak,, there is someone on Facebook or Twitter yapping about how a Federal Reciprocity law or even a Federal Constitutional carry law is going to be great and the first thing they want to do is head off to New York, California, or Illinois and protect themselves and the 2nd amendment just to be an ass. To these people I say "If you have had training you would think twice about doing so." With firearms training you LEARN your rights on a state and federal level along with gun safety. To get my permit I was forced to take a test that outline state and federal laws as they apply to my state and other states. That training was monitored by my state and the only way I could get a permit was to PASS A TEST to make sure I understood gun safety and the laws. Knowing that others in my state, that carry legally, have taken and passed the test makes me feel more comfortable when I am out in public. It makes many people in the gun community feel better also because they know that people who legally carry can be trusted to follow the law. If someone from a constitutional carry state arrives at my doorstep I will take it for granted that they have not been trained and have not taken the time to understand their states laws, my states laws, and federal laws. That is the only way I can look at them. The right to carry should not be a prize...
