Ripley's Aquarium in the Smokies, a popular attraction for me and mine, may be in danger. In a telephone news interview a director said they did everything they could to stay and take care of the fish/animals, including trying to build a bunker for the crew that wanted to stay. But the problem was not the fire but the heavy smoke that made it very hard to breath and very dangerous to stay. They had to evacuate to Pigeon Forge before they lost there chance to evacuate. Hopefully the building will survive.
They are now saying there is a possibility of 60 mph winds to blow through the mountains tonight. That much wind, even if it brings a little rain, will not be good.
Right now it is a mandatory evacuation for Gatlinburg. There is also a possibility of people being trapped due to the fire. This started when the winds, from a new weather front, whipped up late in the afternoon and spread the 40 + wildfires in the area. I will add links as I find them.

Are you in any danger?
Nope. I am farther away from the mountains where the fires are. But I have been on the line with a few friends from the surrounding areas that are closer to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge to see how they are doing. So far so good.
