This is strange. I guess it would be good for professionals, but as a regular Joe using it, this would annoy me to no ends.

U.S. jobless claims fall to eight-week low
The number of Americans filing new applications for unemployment benefits fell last week to the lowest level in eight weeks, suggesting the labor market continued to strengthen despite the recent tightening in financial market conditions. Initial claims for state unemployment benefits dropped 11,000 to a seasonally adjusted 264,000 for the week ended Sept. 12, the Labor Department said on Thursday. It was the 28th straight week that claims remained below the 300,000 threshold, which is usually.....

I wish they had more discussed the complications of reanimating the original body rather than uploading consciousness it to a new one. I think most people know that we're incredibly far from that. A lot of people have themselves cryogenically preserved so that they can be reanimated after a cure has been found for whatever ails them, not so that they can be uploaded to a computer mainframe. Still interesting, nonetheless.

Targeted drug delivery with these nanoparticles can make medicines more effective
Nanoparticles disguised as human platelets could greatly enhance the healing power of drug treatments for cardiovascular disease and systemic bacterial infections. These platelet-mimicking nanoparticles, developed by engineers at the University of California, San Diego, are capable of delivering drugs to targeted sites in the body—particularly injured blood vessels, as well as organs infected by harmful bacteria. Engineers demonstrated that by delivering the drugs just to the areas where the...

Driverless 'Pod' Paves Way for Smartphone-Summoned Transport
It's more golf cart than VW Golf, but this self-driving two-seater “pod” represents the cutting edge of the emerging British autonomous vehicle industry. The first electric Lutz Pathfinder, which is smaller than a Smart car, launched in Milton Keynes today before tests in pedestrianized areas at a top speed of 15 miles per hour. The trial hopes to pave the way to a new mode of public transport that can be summoned with a smartphone. A model of the car was shown in February, but this ...
