The Magna Carta has been adapted and used as inspiration by many countries creating their own Constitutions starting with the United States in 1780 and continuing throughout history, especially during the countless revolutions in 1842.
According to the childhood indoctrination I received in school, it's because the Magna Carta was the first document that suggested a nation of laws would be superior to a nation of men. Does anyone dispute this anymore?
