I've been stung by a wasp once. It was memorable. Never a scorpion. I'm in NC,so I've only seen them on tv and pet shops and have zero interest in getting one.
For wasp and bee stings, we have always used damp tobacco on the sting. None of my friends smoke,but people around here always have a cig stowed away in their medicine cabinet, just in case.
