Gravity may explain how time always runs forward, even though the laws of physics should permit it to run backward.

Considering how gravity affects time and change, this makes some sense to my layman's brain. However, the caveat to that is that the stronger effect gravity has (deeper in the gravity well) the slower time runs which would seem to run counter to this suggestion.
And this, folks, is why I am not a physicist. :)
