I don't know. I have both an iPod Nano, and a full size iPod Classic (in addition to my iPhone), and find both nearly irreplaceable. The nearly weightless nano while running has the added benefit of leaving the phone (and therefore distracting phone calls) at home, and while traveling the Classic allows me to bring my entire music library with me without worrying about connectivity.

I don't know how large your music library is, but wouldn't it be possible for most people to import their files directly to their phone so long as the phone memory is large enough? I realize that a lot of people don't quite have the memory on their phones to store their libraries yet, but I feel that eventually, 32 and 64 GB phone memory is going to become the norm, at which point it just wouldn't make sense to have that second device.

It's going to be awhile before the flash based iPhones match the 160gig of the classic. But, yes, eventually the Classic will be obsolete.
