I remember seeing the first Genisys trailer and thinking "Wow, this is either going to be A-MA-ZING or A-MA-ZING-LY AWFUL". By the sounds of it from most people I've known that have seen it so far it's the latter. In the words of a friend of mine "It's like they walked into the writing room, said 'does anyone remember how all our timelines fit together? No? Ahh, fuck it then!'"
Now not trying to defend it /u/CuppaMatt but it really isn't that bad. I believe the writers went in thinking we are getting a trilogy and lets leave some stuff open for the next movie. I saw it twice and well the first time I was disappointed, but I went in the second time feeling so much better with it. I would say just see it and see lets see where it goes.
