The First Snowflake Photographs
In 1885, Wilson Bentley, a farmer in Vermont, became the first known person to photograph a snowflake. He would document 5,000 of them in his lifetime.

I can’t say how refreshing it is to see snowflakes mentioned without it meaning the target of directed trolling.
I'd like to see more about nucleation, stacking disorder, and arrested growth, but I guess I'm a special snowflake :)
