Until this morning, I had no idea this was even a thing. Why does Ireland hate its women? It is apparently standard to let women die of sepsis instead of ending a nonviable pregnancy and now it seems that crippling women in the name of producing more children was also encouraged. It's easy to say this is the Catholic church's fault due to their teachings but while there are many Catholic countries, this particular horror was only practiced in Ireland.
