So I found out while reading a book on home canning yesterday, that Napoleon was basically the person responsible for its invention, by declaring a contest for a way to preserve food: Cash prize of 12,000 francs. That was a lot of money in 1795...

No, I wish! It's a cool book in and of itself--I love his drawings and cartoon. But finding an old picture was such a neat surprise.

I don't--the photo wasn't labeled with anything except 'Central Park, June 1882'. They look like they were having fun though...badminton, guitars, and all :)

I'm still figuring out Snapzu, so please forgive any mistakes! I love photos of just day-to-day life from long ago. This is just such a nice summer picture of some friends enjoying a day at the Park.
