With Europe Phasing Out The Euro-Cent, Is It Time America Junked The Lincoln Penny?
The Eurozone is phasing out the Euro-cent. It is just too expensive to mint and it is a nuisance for consumers. Should the U.S. follow suit with the Lincoln penny?

I thought they were planning to do just that.
We dropped the penny here in Canada a couple years ago. It doesn't seem to have been an inconvenience at all. I certainly don't notice or miss it. Now we just round up/down for cash purchases and debit+credit are still to the cent.
Actually its really nice not to have to deal with pennies, they were annoying for a while and it's great they are gone.
